Reading – The cable channel CNBC has released a list of the Top 10 Perfect Suburbs to live in across the United States, and Reading ranks No. 4.
The list can be viewed at the following website:
The profile of Reading featured in the slideshow contains a photo of the M.F. Charles building in Reading Square. It lists the metro unemployment rate as 6.7 percent, the median house value of $469,548 and the fact that Reading Public Schools rank higher than 98 percent of all other U.S. public schools and 87 percent of the schools in the rest of the state as some of the reasons why Reading is such a great place to live.
It also cites the fact that Reading is safer from crime than 52 percent of other U.S. communities. It does not say what year crime statistics were taken from when making this list.
CNBC.com states that it derived its top 10 list by using an analysis of the databases of Location Inc., a data and analysis company. They were looking for suburbs “with the best mix of affordable housing, good schools, educated neighbors, low crime, employment and reasonable commutes.”
The other nine suburbs making the list are: Kensington, Md., Circle Pines, Minn., Edmond, Ok., Poquoson,Va., Midlothian, Va., Wexford, Penn., Round Rock, Texas, Morgan, Utah, and Columbia, Md.
