The Super Bowl of Caring 2019

Since 1990, young people have been leading the charge and inspiring others to collect dollars and food weeks leading up to the Big Game: Super Bowl 53 on February 3, 2019. And with the Patriots competing for the championship, the excitement around this football game should feed into the energy of the Souper Bowl of Caring!

Teaming up with local partners, these groups give 100% of donations to local charities, like the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry (WIFP), changing the nation's largest weekend of football into the largest weekend of caring. WIFP, located at the Americal Civic Center,467 Main Street (lower level), in Wakefield, is encouraging everyone in the community to collect monetary donations and grocery items to stock the pantry shelves for the cold winter months.

The volunteers and Board members at the pantry are asking businesses, churches, and other organizations to offer special promotions to their clients and members to spark donations. In addition, families and friends who host Super Bowl parties are encouraged to ask their guests to make financial donations or bring a couple of the most needed grocery items to the get-togethers on February 3, 2019, Super Bowl Sunday.

The most needed items include:

•Spaghetti Sauce (jarred)

• Beef stew / chili / pasta

• Box Pasta

• Baked Beans

• Condiments

• Box rice, potatoes

• Brand Name Cereal

• Cleaning supplies

• Health & beauty aids

The food items can be dropped off at the Food Pantry and at many other locations around town:
