WOBURN - A benefit for Wes Ryan, who was born on April 23 this year, will be held at the Sons of Italy, 168 Lexington St., Woburn, on Friday, Aug. 2, from 7 p.m. to midnight.
Wes, the son of Kylee and Joel Ryan of Woburn, was born with a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, (CDH) which is a hole in the diaphragm which allows some organs in the abdomen to move up into the chest cavity affecting the heart and lungs.
His parents were told to ensure the best medical attention, they should take him to the Philadelphia Childrens Hospital where he needs to be stabilized before surgery can be performed.
He has been placed on a machine called EMCO, Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation which takes over the work of the heart and lungs. This was necessary so that Wes could be rested before surgery.
This will be a huge financial burden for the Ryan family. People can help by attending this benefit and supporting them in any way they are able.
Kaylee and Joel Ryan continue to be strong. They are thankful for the prayers and support they have received from friends, families and even people they have never met.
Everyone is urged to support the Ryan family and attend the benefit with a minimum entrance donation of $15.
There will be food, music, raffles and big ticket.
