WOBURN - After months of planning, in November, 2011, Peter Mamakos, owner of the popular, award winning, eatery, "The Restaurant," launched the Grand Opening of "The Bar", which is also located at 489 Main Street, Woburn, MA, offering guests an upscale dining experience that runs congruent with "The Restaurant", serving a unique "The Bar" menu, an impressive full bar alcohol selection, at a State-of-the-Art, elegantly designed, new Bar, complete with a colored light show display, luxury decor, flat screen TV's, and wait staff that is now available to serve customers both at "The Bar" and in the existing "The Restaurant" eatery.
Featured at "The Bar" and available at "The Restaurant" eatery now, are all types of both traditional and specialty drinks, ranging from Martini's to Bloody Mary's, Mimosa's, Sangrias, Frozen Drinks, Cordials, a full wine selection and many different kinds of bottled and draft beers, not to mention that we truly do serve the coldest draft beers in town!" Mamakos said.
Mamakos proudly introduced a new ICE CAVE type draft beer tapping system called the "Yeti" that chills draft beer to a freezing cold 32 degrees. The "Yeti" sits centered on the classy, new, black granite bar, is cobra shaped, and is white ice frosted on the outside!
"We are one of only three restaurants in New England with the ‘Yeti' draft beer system," Mamakos said.
The Woburn Center, downtown area, continues to expand and "The Bar" was established to allow "The Restaurant" location to continue to attract customers by offering the same family casual dining, and now upscale fine dining, as well as a great atmosphere to come down and enjoy watching a game, the new Bar menu and fun bar bites or sample featured alcohol's that may be available on any given game day.
"The Bar" hours are: Sunday - Wednesday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Thursday - Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
"It was time to make a change," said Peter Mamakos, owner of "The Restaurant",
"The comments have been good so far," Mamakos said, noting the concept is still evolving.
Mr. Mamakos would like the diners of "The Restaurant" eatery to know that while originally "The Restaurant" was only open for breakfast on Sunday, the full menu is now available on Sunday, along with a full bar, and the closing time has been extended to 8 p.m. This is the only change to the existing "The Restaurant" side's hours that have been made.
"The Restaurant" side's new hours are:Monday - Saturday 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Sunday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. [Full Menu/Full Bar and Wait Service Available Every Day].
The way it works, it was noted, is that "The Restaurant" guests are asked by one of the ladies at the register (where they go to pay for their food) if they would like a cocktail. If you would like a cocktail, the girls will hand you a white ticket or place a white ticket at the end of your table and one of "The Bar" cocktail servers will come to the table to take and fill the order.
In yet another change, those wishing to skip the traditional ordering system at "The Restaurant" can now walk directly into "The Bar" side and order off "The Bar" menu taking in just "The Bar" dining experience alone; or take your food from "The Restaurant" eatery side that you paid for and go sit in "The Bar" to enjoy your meal, the new atmosphere and maybe order a cocktail from your server, if you wish, or non-alcoholic frozen drink or Smoothie.
With the changes, the goal is to continue to offer "a very comfortable atmosphere," now with more options whether it is breakfast, lunch, dinner or a drink after work, Mamakos said.
"It is still great food with a friendly staff," Mamakos said.
