WILMINGTON — Suzanne Sullivan, current principal of the Parker Elementary School in Billerica, has been chosen as the new principal of the Woburn Street School. She will begin on July 1, taking over the position currently held by Jeffrey Strasnick.

An announcement of Sullivan’s appointment made by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Glenn Brand at a School Committee meeting on April 24 marks the end of several weeks of candidate interviews and district visits.

In a press release, Brand noted that Sullivan holds 30 years of elementary education experience, including 10 as a principal. He also noted that members of the search team had visited the Parker Elementary School to speak with stakeholders there as a part of the selection process.

Brand also stated at the committee meeting that the posting for the assistant principal position at the Woburn Street School had just recently closed.

“I’m pleased to say there has been a tremendous amount of interest for that search,” said Brand.

Brand noted that this next search process will be similar to the principal search, though slightly scaled down. He also stated that Sullivan would be involved in the selection process.
