WILMINGTON — At a meeting on April 24, the School Committee recognized its two departing members. Committee Chair Julie Broussard, who has been on the committee since 2013, and committee member Thomas Talbot, on the committee since 2016, both did not seek reelection.
Board Vice Chair Jennifer Bryson thanked both during the subcommittee portion of the meeting.
“Thank you for your commitment, thank you for your leadership, thank you for being here. It’s not just in this room that you do this work,” said Bryson.
She noted the extensive time commitment that the committee requires, and expressed optimism with regards to incumbent committee members stepping up into leadership roles.
“It’s just very exciting to be a part of this,” she added.
Talbot and Broussard were both presented with plaques and a poem inspired by Dr. Seuss’ “Oh the Places You’ll Go,” written by the committee. The book is known to be a favorite of Broussard’s.
